Sweetgale Meadworks & Cider House
Sweetgale Meadworks & Cider House, est. 2021. In crafting small-batch berry wines, meads and ciders, Sweetgale Wines has one overarching goal: to showcase the aromas and flavors of Alaska’s fruit, berries and honey using locally produced inputs. It is by working closely with local farmers, foragers and beekeepers to procure the finest ingredients that this becomes possible — and in fact even the yeasts used for the wild fermentation process are local, having been selected and cultivated over the years from varieties that occur naturally right here in Homer.
