Recent Tasting Notes
After visiting a meadery, leave a tasting note like these folks have…
I am actually the owner of Fireside Meadery, and I can say I’ve tried all six of the meads we sell! some are special releases, so there are three flagship meads I’ll talk about below. My favourite has to be the Ember Metheglin, it has warm spice notes of cinnamon and cloves with a strong presence of orange and honey. It’s sweet being a dessert wine, but oh so delicious warmed up, room temp or ice cold. My wife likes our Monarch Melomel, which has all the same flavours of the Ember, but includes ripe blueberry instead of the orange note. I find it just as sweet, but lighter in flavour than the Ember, and that may be why my wife prefers it. Finally our Sunset Cyser is our best selling, easy drinking mead. It is on the drier side of meads with a little hint of sweetness. It boasts strong flavours of apple and warming honey, with a little hint of blueberry dryness/tartness at the end. Definitely one of our more dangerous meads because it goes down so easy. We ship country wide, so check out our socials or our website and place an order! You are always welcome to stop by our store and sit on the patio, too. Sláinte!

I love all the mead here! I usually get the tasting flight. It’s also a gorgeous space.

I had the delicious Hidromiel de Jamaica mead. Notes of cranberry and pomegranate with a nice sweet honey finish. The Jamaica tartness nicely balances out the sweetness.
